2014 was the 25th year since ASEAN and Korea began to establish politically unique relationships based on their contiguous territories and distinct histories and cultures. In order to conjure up the common goal between them to cooperate and create a better future for all, the 2014 ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit took place in Korea. As a related event, ASEAN-Korean Center organized a special program 'Best of ASEAN' and 'Jewels of ASEAN' was a part of it. Jewels of ASEAN was an exhibition to show the past, present and future of the ASEAN interrelated to those of Korea: rich historical and cultural heritages of ASEAN, their dramatically fast economic growth of today, and the great potential for ASEAN and Korea to pave the path for the win-win situation in the future. In Jewels of ASEAN, the landmarks of the 10 countries internationally known for their cultural and historical values were visually re-interpreted and re-produced as an installation work in the Gwanghwamun Square from December 2 to 14.
